What's in my makeup bag (Travel Edition - Mexico)

July 28, 2016

Hi guys,
I know it's been a while since I last posted I seem to always say the next post will be up in a few days and then never actually upload it ugh. So I'm sorry! Last week my husband and I went to Playa del Carmen in Mexico for our 1st wedding anniversary. It was an absolute dream and can't wait to go back!

We had a layover at the Denver airport for 7 hours, it was a struggle but when you're with you're other half it ain't so bad. During the layover, I done my makeup and it actually turned out pretty good for me, using a small compact mirror as a guideline. I'll post the tutorial on the look soon!
Anyway, for Mexico, I knew it was going to be hot so I brought a tiny amount of makeup with me. I ended up never actually using any of it because it was so humid and I honestly didn't want the makeup dripping off of me and we were either swimming in the sea or the pool for like 90% of the trip so there was no point haha.

I brought with me;

-Tarte's tinted moisturiser; this is one of my faves. It's so lightweight, doesn't look cakey and gives a nice finish. It's also really cool because there's tiny flecks of sparkles in the moisturiser. So you're basically already wearing a small amount of highlighter! As lightweight as it is, I didn't feel the need to wear makeup so it was left in the bag! I also use this when I go to work.

-Benefit's Roller Lash mascara is great the wand is simple yet gets the job done. It doesn't clump up my lashes and make them look like spiders legs. It seperates them and gives an even coat of mascara! It's good to use on the go or quickly because of the wand!

-Anastasia Beverly Hills So Hollywood is one of my favourite highlighters! I love it so much. It was tough deciding between the Gleam Glow kit or So Hollywood. I went for So Hollywood because it's lighter and more compact but still makes me sparkle like a star. I use either my A23 brush from ABH or a fan brush to apply the product. Soft glow or hard glow depends on the brush and mood!

- The Too Faced Semi sweet chocolate bar is both neutral and versatile. Did I mention it also smells like chocolate? ? Mmmm. I like the colours in this palette except for the pink shade because that is just pure sparkle and no pink with major fallout. (Boooo) my favourite shade is Butter Pecan, if I could get a huge pan of that I'd be set for life.

-p.s. eyeshadow quad was brought with for a pop of colour if I got bored of the neutral shades. It's also very very lightweight and easily fits into my makeup bag! This quad is so pigmented it honestly shocked me because it cost me like €2.50!!

I just recently started using false lashes, I feel like it really compliments the looks. These are my first pair and I went with Ardell because I know a lot of people love them and I now do too! I use duo glue and apply a very thin line of glue on the strip and then apply to my lashes. If you do this without struggling then kudos!

-I brought the Milani blush in Dolce Pink with me because I thought my Gwen palette was too chunky, I was right. I'm happy I brought it with me because I never wear this blush it is forever abandoned in my makeup bag :( it's got lots of sparkles in it and the perfect pink for me in which I don't look like a clown.

-I brought my Stila liquid lipsticks in Patina and Aria. I also brought the Nyx lingerie liquid lipstick in the shade 'Bedtime Flirt'. I've been loving this shade it's the perfect nude and is such a pretty color. It looks patchy on the swatch but I promise it isn't.

-My Lorac Pro Contour kit came as well. Speaking of powder products, I brought Essence Stay Matte pressed powder for setting my foundation. I also brought the Urban Decay beached bronzer in 'Bronzed' which I lovveeee. It's so buttery and works like a dream.

-For concealer I brought my trusty Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer. I love this concealer I have an in depth review about it on my blog but this blends out super nicely. It works super well on dry skin I'm not sure how it is on oily or combo skin! A lot of people go for Nars creamy concealer if they don't like the UD one. The wand is really nice and picks up a lot of product so that's awesome that you're not constantly dipping back the wand back into the tube.

I hope you guys liked this post. I plan on getting back on track with my posts. I have even recorded some tutorials and I plan on editing them to see how they turn out. You never know I might be on YT next haha.

Until Saturday guys, have a great week!
