May/ June Ipsy bag

July 04, 2017

Alright so I know it's been way too long but I've been writing my blog posts out and putting a lot more depth into them rather than throwing them out there when I'm not happy with the finished result. So for July there will be a lot of content and some reviews from products I got at the start of June.

First post for my blog is an Ipsy bag! What's better than getting back into my blog with a double whammy of Ipsy? If the July Ipsy bag isn't too appealing for me I might stop getting them, I've been seriously considering it.

                                                              May Ipsy Bag

Bag:
The theme of this bag is Summer. I think the bag is cute and would make a great pencil case. It's really big for an Ipsy bag because usually they're small and annoying to get things out of it. However, this one I feel like you can feel a lot inside. I really like the ice cream pattern! It's super cute for summer and perfect.

tréStique - Matte Lip Crayon - Tuscan Wine
I really like the packaging of this crayon. The tip of the packaging looks exactly like the crayon inside the tube! Which I think is really neat. It's retractable which is really nice because I feel like a lot of lip crayons aren't retractable and you take chunks off when putting the cap back on lol. It's very smooth to apply and feels very buttery. One swipe of this crayon gave me so much pigmentation, it's crazy!

Urban Decay - Afterglow - Sin
I was excited to try the Urban Decay Afterglow highlighters! These are said to last for up to 8 hours. Sin looks like such a beautiful highlight/ colour in the pan. However, it just didn't show up or if it did, it didn't last for a very long time. Which is a disappointment because I feel like a lot of people really raved about these highlighters. At the moment for me, this product is a no. I'm gonna grab for products that I know will leave me with a glow for a good couple of hours and not wear off in minutes.

ADESSE - Nail laquer - Surfer Girl
I love this color, it's so pretty & the perfect shade for Summer. I feel like this formula comes off as very sheer & streaky. No matter how nice a shade may look it's not worth it, if it's gonna be streaky af. I like a strong coat from the go. It'll be nice to add to my collection but I probably won't wear it often.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics - Eyeshadow Duo- Supercharged.
First thing: I love that this brand is cruelty free! I think it's great for brands to be cruelty free. It's so upsetting to hear that Nars are no longer cruelty free as they're going into the Chinese market and they test on animals. Jelly Pong Pong cosmetics say their ingredients are derived from veggies and are all natural. I love the color of the packaging but the compact is so hard to open. lol. Both shades are absolutely stunning when you finally open the packaging.  They are outstanding in quality and intensity!

Luxie Brushes - Luxie Dreamcatcher Precision Foundation Brush 660
I've always wanted to try a Luxie brush & omg it was so worth the wait! It's so fluffy and soft. I don't particularly like using brushes for my foundation. However, this brush blends the foundation out really nicely & doesn't cling to my dry patches. I think I prefer the application over a beauty blender! My makeup turns out really beautiful. The best pairing for a foundation with this brush is the Tarte rainforest Of the sea foundation! Blends like a dream. I have a few Luxie brushes in my cart and I'm excited to buy them now after trying out this brush!! Luxie brushes are also vegan and cruelty free! What another great reason to love Luxie!

June Ipsy Bag

Bag:
I think this months bag is very chic & it honestly reminds me of Makeup Forever. This bag isn't as bad as they've come up with before. (I just saw the July design lmao). I feel like the zipper is usually shit on the other bags but miraculously this one isn't lol. Ok now I'm just nit-picking so let's get on to the products I got!

City Color - Shimmer Shadow - Beach Cottage.
Another cruelty free brand, I love it! I forgot I even got this and was so psyched when I saw it again! The colour of this shadow is so intense, it's crazy. It reflects beautifully against the light revealing gorgeous gold undertones! If mermaids are even real (Please be real!!) then this would be a gorgeous highlight.

NYX - Lip & Cheek Color - Pink Cloud
I love Nyx and I was excited to try this product! I really like the wand and it's nice because you reach every corner of your mouth. The actual colour and packaging look nothing alike. This shade is baby pink and looks very natural on me. When I first applied this shade to my lips I thought it looked pretty bad but the end result is quite pretty. It got the husband approval so that's a good thing lol.

The Balm - Blush - In Full Swing
I love how cute the cover of this blush is but I hate how small it is. It's not as small as the bronzer I got from The Balm in an ipsy bag, that size was wayyy too small. This is a very pretty blush and I feel like it's the perfect shade for my skin. It blends out nicely and isn't a harsh blush. Fun fact: The Balm was the brand that the mua used for my wedding makeup! I thought that'd be a cute lil fact as it's my 2 year wedding anniversary next week!

BioRepublic Skincare - Sheet Masks- Aloe Rescue & Green Tea Detox
I'm so happy I got sheet masks in this bag! I don't think I've ever tried them before so I'm excited! The Aloe Rescue is perfect for Summer as it will hydrate and calm down skin that has been in the sun. The Green Tea Detox has vitamin E in it and will leave the skin looking fresh and feeling clean. I've been changing up my skincare a lot and I'm looking forward to see if these will benefit my skin in any way.

Trust Fund Beauty - Nail Polish - Game Changer
Game Changer is described as a fun electric coral. I feel as if this shade is might be a bit too bright for me. That's the impression I get from the bottle. Although I haven't tried it on my nails yet but it looks like it's very opaque and provides a nice coverage!

Hope you enjoyed this post! Happy 4th of July and see you in a couple of days!
